Suicide Threat

If someone threatens suicide,  DO NOT LEAVE THAT PERSON ALONE!!!

1. Call College Police immediately at (540) 365-4444

   Police will respond and will immediately alert the appropriate people.
   
   You MUST call immediately, even if student asks you not to call!

2. Remain with student until response team member arrives. DO NOT LEAVE THE PERSON ALONE!
3. Show and acknowledge that you take the person seriously.
4. Accept, understand and support his/her feelings.
5. Explain that, with help, things can be better.
